  • Winter (Oct to Apr): Comfortable and pleasant… around 24–25°C
  • Summer (May to Sept): Very hot that it is often above 40°C

What Is the History of Faiyum Oasis?
The history of the Fayoum Oasis is one of the oldest and richest in Egypt:-

  • Prehistoric Era: in which farming villages appeared as early as the Neolithic period
  • Pharaonic Egypt: by 3000 BC; it was used to control Nile floods, and then in the 12th Dynasty pharaohs Senusret III and Amenemhat III expanded canals and built Lake Moeris (which is today’s Lake Qarun)
  • Religious Significance: Sobek (the crocodile god) was worshiped in Faiyum, and Crocodilopolis (modern-day Faiyum city) became a religious hub
  • Greek & Roman Periods: it is known as Arsinoe and it is when the oasis became a major grain supplier and produced the famous Faiyum portraits which are realistic mummy paintings combining Greek and Egyptian styles
  • Christian & Islamic Eras: the region kept growing with monasteries, mosques and farmlands shaping its cultural identity
