Nile River Cruises
A Nile River Cruise in Egypt comes in three main types:
1. Luxor and Aswan Nile Cruises use larger ships on 4/5/8 day itineraries between Luxor and Aswan, with guided visits at each stop (Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, Queen Hatshepsut Temple, Valley of the Kings, Colossi of Memnon, Horus Temple in Edfu, Kom Ombo Temple, Philae Temple, the Unfinished Obelisk, and the High Dam).
2. Dahabiya Nile Cruises are small luxury boats on 4/5/8 day itineraries, offering flexible island moorings and village stops along the route between Esna and Edfu. Highlights include the Temple of Khnum, El Kab Tombs, the Temple of Horus, Gebel el-Silsila’s sandstone quarries, Kom Ombo Temple, village visits such as Basaw and Daraw, and peaceful pauses at El Hagaz and Herbiab Islands. In Aswan, programs feature Philae Temple, the Unfinished Obelisk, and the Aswan High Dam. The Philae Sound and Light Show can also be added.
3. Lake Nasser Cruises sail between Aswan and Abu Simbel on 4/5/8 day itineraries, with guided temple visits including Abu Simbel Temples, an optional evening Sound and Light Show, panoramic views of Kasr Ibrim, and shore visits to Amada, Derr, the Tomb of Pennut, Wadi El Seboua, Dakka, and Maharraqa. In Aswan, you also visit Philae Temple, the Unfinished Obelisk, the Aswan High Dam, Kalabsha Temple, Beit El Wali, and the Kiosk of Qertassi.
